Yes-No-Yes-No ???? Finally it lased ?

Well, at first it was the problem with the microscope. That fixed it was with the wrong path settings in the matlab program. That also fixed, the issue was with some data buffering up when the matlab program exits without closing the instruments .....

All fixed, it finally gave the beautiful lasing L-I curve.. Hopefully I have maintained my high yield :-) .. So without all the uncertainty, whats the joy in the final result ?!

The saying goes that in the fabrication world, if you estimated n days to complete a work, be prepared for atleast 2n days !! In the measurement world, shall I say 3n days ? .. No no, I am just getting better at this, so shud I believe (after all, I did the LASER5 in about 10 days, never mind the nite outs, when even Chris says it would take 'im 2 weeks if he slogs like crazy).. and today when I learned much about that box-car inetgrator ... why on earth do they call it so.. after almost all the scopes are boxes !!

Gotta bunch of things up my sleeves- Visa.... , course registration etc, and most importantly, the proposal . That apart, as far as the work goes its Let me see where I stand in each of these
From the back end to the front end. (Based on knowledge, comfort, confidence, and yield)


Material : 2/10 - have some very basic idea ...ummm the MBE stuff
Design: 5/10 - Used to do when in nanofab, last one year, I have had to focus on fab
Fab : 8/10 - I would even give a 9, but will wait for it to get faster
Sample setup: 7/10 - I mean cleaving, sub-mounting (!!), wirebonding etc
Measurements- 6/10 - Need to build some more confidence- burn up a few devices dude
Analysis : 7/10 - When need be, I think I can get reaaaaallly good at it
Packaging: NA - Haven't started working on it yet
LASER theory - 5.5/10 - Slowly getting there
Depth/Innovation-4/10- Thats where I need to work on for my proposal

Need to get to the hi gear for the next two months

Technically I started working with Chris in Feb 2005 .. (Jan 26 ??) .. So thats getting a year. But then the first 4 months were hectic with MS and TA.. So then I would say practically it started May 2005 .. So thats 8 months so far..

ummmmmm.... catch up !! fasten up
